Who We Work With
Testimonials
Support
“We have had the pleasure of having Petrena as part of our team in St Anne’s Catholic Primary School for the past few years. She is an amazing woman who brings so much to our school family – supporting our children, parents, and staff in so many ways. She always has a listening ear and a cup of tea waiting for our parents when they need it most. People are at ease around her, and she has some great ways of getting people to engage with her. Nothing is too much trouble for her, and she is relentless when trying to help others. The children love to see Petrena in school and look forward to their time with her on a Monday and Wednesday, even when they have finished their sessions with her, they ask to go back for some Petrena time!”
Mental Health
“We have been using Reach to support the mental health and well-being of pupils and staff at The Pines. It has been by far one of the best interventions that we have bought into school. Both Michelle and Wendy are sympathetic to the differing needs of our children and have become an integral part of our school team. They always go above and beyond, providing additional support as necessary. Pupils, staff, and parents value and appreciate the support of Michelle and can see the positive benefits that sessions have. As a school, we would be lost without Michelle and Wendy!”
Training
“Thank you so much for the training that staff have been to so far. Their feedback had been really positive.”

1:1 Mentoring
“REACH has worked with Woodhouse Primary Academy for only a few weeks but we have already seen a massive difference in the children being mentored. Wendy has fitted into our team really well and we look forward to our working relationship continuing into the future”

Pastoral Support
“Reach Support and in particular, Wendy Sartain, has made a huge impact on the pastoral life at our school. A professional and dedicated individual Wendy has become part our team dedicated to supporting the children and families that make up the Welsh House Farm school community. Wendy is passionate about supporting children and families and providing a regular fun friendly space where our pupils can talk about their aspirations, wishes, feelings and friendships.
Offering a range of services Wendy has been instrumental in supporting the school to gain the UNICEF Rights Respecting Silver Award and has formed a successful parent partnership. Through Reach Support over the last 3 years we have been able to offer our pupils the opportunity of a high quality Summer School experience – a week filled with activities and fun led by professionals committed to working and supporting children and families!
Reach Support is one of the most positive initiatives our school has become involved and we hope to continue with this successful partnership in years to come.”

Mental Health Training
“I felt the course was really good. It provided a lot of information and Michelle that ran the course was really knowledgeable on the subject area and was able to answer any questions you had.
The course was also well linked back to mental health in schools and we were made aware of different resources that were available.
We also Looked at a good example of an action plan. This was a nice way of getting started with our own action plan ready to take back into our own schools to get started.
I would highly recommend this course to anybody that is doing anything around mental health in education.”

First Aid For Mental Health
“The two-day course that I attended on First Aid for mental health was very informed. The course was extremely well presented by Michelle.
I would whole heartedly recommend this course to anyone who is going to take on the mental health lead role in school. You won’t go wrong.”

Mentoring and Family Support
“Reach provide essential services to our school community in the form of a learning mentor and family support worker. The highly skilled and committed staff make a significant impact in our school working holistically with children and families to offer essential support and guidance. Reach staff make a strong contribution to the care and assistance which is provided through school for those in need. We consider Reach staff to be a key part of our staff team and they each add significant expertise, resilience and experience to our school. The impact on children and families is immense and has enabled so many children to flourish in school. Reach are a key support service for Woodhouse Primary Academy and I would not be without their care, help, assistance and support.”

Additional Needs Support
“I felt very alone and overwhelmed with the struggles of coping with life with children who have additional needs. I felt that I was parenting wrong, failing my boys and hadn’t a clue what to do. Then along came Wendy who helped me in a way I can’t explain.
She has enabled me to understand the additional needs my children have and has given me countless strategies and tips to try and help make our family life calmer and happy all around“
